Juvederm Austin

Juvederm is a dermal filler that is used to add volume to sagging skin of the face and neck, softening deep lines and wrinkles that add to the appearance of aging. Juvederm treatments are non-surgical, physician-administered procedures, during which the provider uses an ultra-fine needle to ease a hyaluronic acid gel under the skin to fill the soft dermal tissues. Most patients who request Juvederm treatments want to remove deep “smile lines” between the corners of the nose and mouth, but it is also used on other deep lines and creases, to fill in pock marks, and to augment the shape and fullness of lips.

Juvederm’s primary ingredient, hyaluronic acid (HA), is naturally found in the young, healthy tissues of many mammals, including humans. HA has been found to stretch skin cells called fibroblasts in a manner that stimulates collagen creation, as well as slowing the breakdown of existing collagen. Collagen in the skin helps to decrease folds and wrinkles. The injected HA also absorbs and retains water, so it adds and holds volume under the surface of sagging skin, smoothing wrinkles even more.

All hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are eventually absorbed into the tissues, so maintenance of the fuller, more youthful look requires periodic repeat injections. Juvederm’s hyaluronic acid gel is a state of the art dermal filler, because of its special smooth consistency that holds up better over time than the more granular gels of other fillers. This means that Juvederm is the only HA filler that is FDA approved to last up to a full year with only one treatment.

At Procutic, we proudly offer other filler alternatives to Juvederm including Artefill, Radiesse, and Belotero.
